so i had heard the term chinese take-out before and I figured I knew what that meant. and i did, when referring to LA. but in New York chinese take-out is taken to another level. there are chinese food 'restaurants' everywhere most of them are no more than 12 feet wide and contain three tables at most. their main revenue source is take-out. i know it makes perfect sense, but its utterly strange to me. anyway i am addicted to these restaurants mostly because there is one two blocks from my apartment open late, and also one near where i am currently working. i t got me to thinking though about how we don't really have anything like that in LA. which made me htink about Panda Express. there are no Pandas, at least that i've seen, in new york. i don't think anyone would go. panda in new york would cost more and taste less good than these chinese take-out places. so then why does panda exist in LA? shouldnt chinses take-out be a success there too.
on a side note: today i saw the chinese chinese woman running the counter at the place at went to yelling at a hispanic woman who did not speak the greatest english. neither of them did, in fact. basically the chinese woman was yelling, in broken english, at the hispanic basically over a problem caused by the hispanic woman's poor english. now becuase the yelling was in broken english the hispanic woman became even more confused, which led to more yelling, yet again in broken english. these are the kinds of things that amuse on a daily basis.
