snowed for realz today. it was fun getting to work in the morning when the snow was still fresh and falling. on the way home, however, the sun came meaning there was a ton of water that needed to melt. all the cars don't help eitehr. crossing the street is like walking through a dirty slush puppy. it made me think of the old myth that eskimos have 80 words for snow. i bet they dont have the dirty slushy snow that pools up near curbs and is dark enough that it looks like theres just a layer of slush on the ground rather than the four inches that are about to slowly seep into your shoes. whose idea was it tpo put 8 million people, their children, and their cars in an area wehre it snows alot. this is just silly. i hoope i get more of the morning snows than those trips home thorugh the slush. oh and the way the snow outlines the tops of the branches of all the trees, especially the really dark trees, is beautiful.

in response to geetha's comment- yes the sri lanka thing is interesting. i showed up and the 3rd grade teachers had decided that they wanted to do something about sri lanka. the makulu II will be there in january. i was like huh, whatevs, i know more about sri lanka that the other countries they're going to anyways. i actually showed the class the pictures of animals you took in sri lanka. they loved it.
