Resistance is futile
so i was at work today for like 5.5 hours and all i managed to get done was running a freakin gel. this normally takes about and hour to an hour and a half depending on how long you run it and how dense the gel is. so i realyl ran two gels but the first one i fuckjed up cuz im stupid, so i had to redo it. so i ran out of the buffer for the gel as i was filling the gel box. the buffer is .5x TBE and it sits in two one liter bottles on a shelf at the micrarray bench. so i finished off the last of it and i look to see if there is more, and i notice a 2litre ( a little love for the brits here) bottle behind the two one liter bottles. turns out this bottle contianed 5x TBE so i added ten times as much salt as i needed to. this mistake of mine ended up being ok becasue in addition to frackin that i up the german american communication barrier struck again. frank told me what to do but he added some stuff to run on the gel in the end, and for some reaon i thought i didnt have to do the other stuff, so i basically didnt run half of the samples he wanted me to run. but becasue i used the wrong buffer it kinda distracted him from my true noobity.
so i was thinkin today about this whole blog craziness cuz geetha called me while at work, to tell me a story about bobby woo, and she also told me that she got no work done cuz there were far more blogs that she expected. so after that iwas thinkin about how we not only have weblogs (blogs), we have a little blog webring. ironically geetha referred to it as a blogring, kinda stealin my thunder for this post but thats ok, cuz she didnt find the true gold. i mean first off, why did the term "bring" not catch on for the webring? cuz its a stupidfrackinPOSname thats why. but when the bring is a bring of blogs it becomes a BLING!!! now thats whati call entertainemnt. and as we all know from little ceasers, two is better than on so its a BLING!BLING!!!!!
i msut first give thanks to the cash money millionares who inspired the bling bling term/craze wiht the song bling bling (you know i got the jaguar, bling bling, put dubs on it, bling bling, i got expensive this, bling blin, i got expensive that, bling bling, etc...).
so the story about bbwo that the g-ride gave to me is such: bbwo callXors greefa and sayz "you should not wear caltech sweatshirts anymore" (greefa wored that at z pantree z udder night). and greefa sizaid: hey, youre not in this relationship. and bbwo in his infinite wisdom said: neither are you. greefa thought it funny that he cared, and he siad hed been htinking about it for the past couple days. alls i gots to say is that i agree with both parties, though greefa can wear whatever she wants. though if neither of dem are in the relationship, that leaves me, so im not sure what relationship they are talking about.
petrie-pan K's and bits and bits and bits phoned me today but i was sitting in on lab meeting so i did not answorg. then the buzz form the shlorts began anew, and it was himXor callXiring anew. but agian, i was to nto answer due to the rudity that would ensue. later on, when i had a free minizzle (thank you snoop dogg) i listened to his messages. made me laugh, but i was in lab so it made it (side note: someone, namely ashleigh (no thats not my own crazy way of spelling it) mutt's (yes its really, matt but i wnated to spell it funny) gf imed me and i was responding to her queries with a simialr language as i use here, not sure its a good idea, cuz i mean i dunno, apparently its hard to understand, excpet by bobby flack, cuz he speaks the good engrish) so i didnt have to laugh so much (to return oyu to the topic at hand after that side not heres a recap: lollipops are good) and it was hard. good stuff. so i called ppkbbb back and left him a silly message, and then another, and apparently they were funny, and he almost got in numerous humerous car crashes. also good stuff. back-up note:: peter's second message came after a very long, detailed, first message that i received in its entirety, it was funny. his second message was he saying that he wasnt sure if i ogt hte first message (take-home point peter is inept). he then said that if i DID get the first message i shold call him back, adn that if i DID NOT get the first message to call him back (as you see he would have to explain what was in the first). now you all can see by now, the flaw in ppkbbb's logic. and of course that is, for all you laggers, that i clearly did not receive the first message because peter is inept adn his explanation of htis and that in the 2nd massage was unnecececcary and funny as well.
oh i jsut realized that my resistance is futile title is pointless, becasue i did not mention that the extra salt made th ebuffer more electroconducive and hence changed the resistance. the current running through the gel the first time around, i saw, was like way way higher than usual, and of course assyoumewd there was somehtign wrong with the gel voltage applier thingies (cant htink of tis name right now). i htink thats enough crap for now. if anyone is still reading this, bravo.
